HIT Dashboard Provides Snapshot of State Initiatives
The HIMSS State HIT Dashboard is a free resource that gives healthcare professionals, policy makers and industry leaders a snapshot of major health information technology initiatives. HIMSS' goal is to provide an easy and comprehensive resource for organizations and healthcare professionals needing timely access to information about HIT programs and initiatives across the United States and its territories. This project was undertaken due to the identified need of having state-specific HIT information easily accessible to the industry. The HIMSS State HIT Dashboard provides a color-coded, easy-to-read visual interface that tracks many of today’s key HIT initiatives, including Regional Extension Centers, state resources, Health Information Exchanges, as well as HIMSS Chapters and the HIMSS Davies Award Winners. In addition, the State Legislation Tracker provides "one-stop service" to track key pending HIT legislation and executive orders at the state level. The Dashboard Project Team strives to collect and update the Dashboard with the most current information. Additional HIT activities are planned for the HIMSS State HIT Dashboard in the near future, making this one of the most comprehensive public resources available on HIT initiatives across the United States. For more information on the HIMSS State HIT Dashboard, contact Pamela Matthews, Senior Director.
